How to get to the Athens Airport


By Taxi. It will take you about 30-40 minutes to get from the airport to Athens centre by taxi. Fare: about 25 €.

By Car. The new Athens airport, ‘Elefterios Venizelos Airport’, is located in Spata, about 27 km to the north-east of Athens centre. A new 6-lane highway called ‘Attiki odos’ now links northern Athens to the airport. From Syntagma Square (in Athens centre), take the Vassilissis Sofias Boulevard, then Messogion Boulevard, and then the highway “Attiki Odos”, which leads to the airport. About a 30-40 minute drive.

By Bus. From Syntagma Square (Athens centre). Public transport.
24 hour service, with at least 3 departures per hour (see above-mentioned timetable)
Line: E95
Departures every 20/30 minutes
Duration of the journey: 60 minutes
Terminus: Syntagma Square
Fare: 2.90 €

By Metro. Line 3 will take you from Athens to the Elefterios Venizelos airport in 36 minutes. Departure from the following stations: Monastiraki or Syntagma Square (see map). Three departures per hour. Fare: 8 €.
